Gerry Aubie has announced that he will seek the Green Party nomination in the riding of Bathurst East-Nepisiguit-Saint Isidore. He is a clinical psychologist and has taught at the Bathurst School of Nursing and the UNB Faculty of Nursing.

Mr. Aubie is a 59 years old and married to Vicki who is also a clinical psychologist.  He was born and raised in Bathurst and has three grown children. He and his wife now live in East Bathurst where they operate an independent psychology clinic. He enjoys home renovation, organic gardening, woodworking, painting, and sculpturing. And he has opened his home to three rescued greyhound dogs.

Mr. Aubie has been active in his community at various levels, including coaching hockey and baseball, and volunteering as a scout leader. He has helped financially support various athletes to travel to national and international events. Mr. Aubie is currently helping to raise funds for a local mental health organization.

Mr. Aubie has served on the executive of the College of Psychologists of New Brunswick (CPNB) and also served for several years as a member of the Complaints Committee for CPNB. Moreover, he has served on a commissioned study to assess suicide in New Brunswick. Mr. Aubie has also served as the president of the New Brunswick Clinical Hypnosis Society.

His love for nature and respect for the land has motivated him to become proactive and help New Brunswickers to continue enjoying a healthy environment in the future. He believes that employment opportunities should not be at the cost of our health and that of future generations, and that government is for the greater good rather than the interest of a few.

Mr. Aubie has chosen to become a member of the Green Party and to seek a seat in Bathurst East-Nepisiguit-Saint Isidore because the ideology of the Green Party parallels his own. In his words, “We must all be stewards of the earth, which starts in our own backyard, and then extends to the community and to our government. We cannot wait for the next generation to solve our problems. We must remedy the earth for our grandchildren. It is an urgent call.”
